Why Choose Our Forged Crane Hooks?

One-Piece Forged

Each forged crane hook is crafted from a single piece of premium alloy steel using closed-die forging, eliminating welds and ensuring maximum structural integrity.

Q&T Heat Treatment

All hooks undergo precise quenching and tempering heat treatment to achieve optimal hardness (HB 220–280) and toughness, with a 4:1 safety factor that complies with DIN requirements.

100% Load Tested

Every forged hook undergoes magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and a 2x rated load verification test before leaving the factory, and is accompanied by a material report and a load test certificate.

Anti-Corrosion Coating

After shot blasting, the hooks can be provided with anti-corrosion coatings such as blackening, galvanizing, epoxy spray painting, or hot-dip galvanizing, making them suitable for marine and harsh environments.

Material & Forging Process

1

Raw Material Inspection

Only certified alloy steel billets (DG20Mn, 35CrMo, 42CrMo4) accompanied by a material certificate from the steel mill. Chemical composition is verified through spectroscopic analysis.

2

Closed-Die Forging

The steel billet is heated to 1150–1250°C and forged using precision dies on a 1,600-metric-ton press to create a one-piece forged steel crane hook with optimal metal flow lines.

3

Heat Treatment

After quenching in oil or polymer at 860°C, temper at 550–650°C to achieve uniform hardness (HB 220–280) and toughness (impact energy at –20°C ≥ 27 J).

4

Surface & NDT

After shot blasting to Sa2.5 cleanliness, 100% of the components undergo magnetic particle inspection in accordance with EN 1369, dimensional inspection, and a verification test at twice the rated load, followed by anti-corrosion coating.

Material Grades We Use

Material selection is critical for lifting hook performance and safety. We source premium materials from top Chinese steel mills with full traceability.

DG20Mn / Grade P

For hooks up to 32t. Good combination of strength and ductility. Most economical choice for standard duty and mechanism group M3–M5.

35CrMo / Grade V

For hooks up to 50t. Higher strength and hardenability, suitable for heavy-duty service and higher mechanism groups M5–M6.

42CrMo4 / Grade T

For heavy-duty hooks 50t+. Premium alloy steel with excellent strength-to-weight ratio, toughness and fatigue resistance per DIN 17200 for mechanism groups M6–M8.

Need a complete forged crane hook block assembly?

In addition to selling forged crane hooks individually, Glory Rail supply complete forged hook block assemblies,
including pulleys, bearings, hook nuts, crossbeams, trunnions, and safety latches. As an experienced exporter of industrial forged hooks,
we offer complete, ready-to-install hook block assemblies that comply with
DIN standards and are available in custom configurations.

Applications & Industries

Steel Mills & Foundries: Double-hook forged crane hooks and heavy-duty crane hooks are used for handling steel ladles, pouring molten metal, and lifting steel coils in high-temperature environments.

Power & Energy: High-capacity alloy steel forged crane hooks are used for steam turbine installation, transformer handling, wind turbine assembly, and nuclear facility maintenance.

Ports & Shipyards: Hot-dip galvanized heavy-duty crane hooks are used in quay gantry cranes, container handling, and shipbuilding, and feature marine-grade corrosion protection.

Construction & Infrastructur: Forged crane hooks with safety latch are used on tower cranes and crawler cranes to ensure the safe lifting of precast concrete sections and structural steel.

Automotive Manufacturing: Medium-capacity single-hook forged crane hooks are used for moving dies in the stamping shops of automotive plants, as well as for lifting on assembly lines and transporting parts.

Warehousing & Logistics: Light- to medium-duty forged hooks are used for handling cargo and pallets with overhead cranes in warehouses, distribution centers, and freight terminals.

Need custom forged crane hook or non-standard designs?

As an OEM manufacturer of forged crane hooks, Glory Rail specializes in the production of custom forged crane hooks.
Whether you need special dimensions, non-standard materials, custom thread specifications, extended straight shanks,
or specific coating requirements, our in-house engineering team can design and manufacture forged lifting
hook solutions according to your exact specifications. We also provide OEM/ODM services to crane brands worldwide.
